Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, the extreme and heavy rainfall of yesterday evening caused flash floods throughout Cherwell. During these flash floods the surface water accumulates quicker than it can be absorbed into the ground or dealt with by the drainage systems causing the drainage system to be very quickly overwhelmed. The surface water then requires time to disperse.
We have visited this location on the, 17.8.22, and found there to be no standing surface water to indicate there are any drainage issues that require immediate action. The gully being referred to has grass growing in the silt around the cover, unfortunately we were unable to remove the silt due to a blue ford being parked over the gully, any removal of the silt from the cover would be beneficial. regards
