Temporary lights

Reported via mobile in the Current Roadworks - live information category anonymously at 17:25, Mon 15 August 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

These works are a huge inconvenience to the local community for someone else’s profit, why have they been allowed to be in place for so long ?

  • These lights now form a blockade to the west of Didcot as there are lights on the A4130 link road and the villiage of West Hagbourne is closed so it is impossible to leave Didcot and head west without significant delays. The incompetence of who ever scheduled and allowed this is unbelievable!. One of these schemes needs to be suspended immediately , it is impacting public transport and emergency services.

  • The temporary lights are still there, despite not being on one.network and a sign they end on 31st Aug. There are also signs appeared that say the road is completely closed from the 5th to the 9th Sept, but this also does not seem to be on one.network. Are these contractors just operating outside any regulatory body?

  • There is a sign at these lights, see photo top of thread, the signs clearly says the dates of the works, a key part being end of August, doesn't mention a year though - handy ! Anyway 1st Sep today, and there is no way that the inconvenience is about to end soon, still diggering going on, still queues in and out of Didcot, morning, noon and night, this is not funny anymore, there is no visible benefit to the general public for when this is finished.
