Very dangerous zebra crossing.

Reported via mobile in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 16:08, Friday 12 August 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This crossing is dangerously to close an existing pedestrian controlled push button crossing. The two crossings should not be that close together. In the last 2 days we have tried to cross the new zebra on bikes only to be narrowly missed by cars pulling away from the other crossing and going straight over the new crossing. Has this new crossing had a safety audit carried out. You are going to have serious injury or worse very soon.

  • We continue to be ignored by some drivers going straight over this crossing without stopping. And it's always because they've just pulled away from the other very close by pedestrian controlled crossing. So far we've seen two drivers, realising their mistake, putting their hand up as some kind of apology. A small consolation it must be said. Many more have just gone through seemingly oblivious to it..!! It's only a matter of time until someone is hurt here. Is there an update on this enquiry please.

  • No update yet.?? New update from this end though. Last week I tried to cross this Zebra X-ing and a bus went straight over it when I was waiting for it to stop so I could cross. I'm not taking any chances with this Zebra and good job I didn't step out. I await an update..!!
