Road sinking on Green Lane approaching Chesterton after bridge crossing M40

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 11:45, Thu 11 August 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Dear Sir/Madam, I regularly drive to the cricket ground in Chesterton, along Green Lane and cross the bridge over the M40. I had noticed that the road had been sinking, immediately after the bridge when traveling East towards Chesterton, but it seems to have accelerated dramatically during the dry weather, to the point that the car traveling ahead of me bottomed out and I could see sparks underneath when it hit the road.

I approached at a considerably lower speed than the speed limit for that road and, at 25 MPH, I had a degree of loss of control.

This puts this part of the road, I believe, in a very dangerous situation and would suggest that it be addressed urgently.
