Parking opposite a junction and overgrown shrub again!!
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 10:55, Wed 10 August 2022
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Cars, vans, and coaches often park nose to tail opposite the junction of Kysbie Close with Langley Road. This causes issues when exiting Kysbie Close as oncoming cars from the left have to drive on the wrong side of the road. Added to this the large shrub to the right obscures vision of vehicles approaching from the right.
If possible, could this shrub be removed, rather than trimmed. If possible could ‘no parking’ lines be painted opposite the junction.

The shrub does block vision of the vehicles from the right. It is also growing uncontrollably and the top of it has not been trimmed as you can see from the photos. We asked a private company if they could cut the top as it is growing way over our fence and it is very spiky but they said that we need to speak to the council and that there is nothing they can do. We would prefer it to be removed too but if this cannot is not possible could the top be trimmed as well at fence level rather than just the side? Thank you.

Thank you for your report. The installation formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a traffic regulation order which involves a long and expensive legal process including full consultation, external funding would be required for this process. It should be noted that if vehicles are parking in either a dangerous position or in such a manner as to cause an obstruction of the public highway they are committing an offence under section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, this legislation is enforced by Thames Valley Police
