Tree on footpath undermining and overhanging fence

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 14:00, Fri 5 August 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The tree on the footpath running between Bushey Row and Mount Owen Road next to 16 The Pieces is undermining the fence of number 16's garden, as well as overhanging it. It has probably got too big for he position it is in.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. This issue has been passed onto the relevant team for investigation.

    State changed to: Investigating

  • Thank you for your enquiry, I have visited site and inspected the trees & vegetation as described in the enquiry. The vegetation present appears growing beyond the area that OCC maintains and is therefore deemed to be an adjacent boundary feature. OCC, as the local highway authority, maintain the HMPE (highway maintainable at public expense) from boundary feature to boundary feature. As such the vegetation present is maintainable by the adjacent property/land owner, and not the county council, to maintain as they wish. Should you require a more detail on this matter, please contact our highway records team at: Landandrecords@oxfordshire.gov.uk
