  • Thank you for your report. I have visited the site you pinpointed on the map, The Long Close to Fogwell Road link footpath. South side of 6 Ashcroft Close, Botley, see photos, and assessed the issue that you have identified. I have checked our Highway Records maps and found that the vegetation overgrowing and obstructing our footpath is private vegetation, growing from, owned by, and the responsibility of the adjacent verge and property landowners.

I have sent an email to Vale of White Horse District Council, who own the adjacent verge, informing them of this issue. Vale of White Horse District Council Parks team is responsible for the management and enhancement of all parks, open spaces, closed churchyards, cemeteries and verges that they own or maintain.

I have also requested a letter be sent to the owner of the adjacent property, 110 Eynsham Road, asking them to cut back their vegetation overhanging the footway, within 28 days of receipt.
