New LED Light Pollution - High Street Upper Heyford

Reported via desktop in the Other Lighting Issue category anonymously at 22:13, Thu 21 July 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

A new LED light unit was put in opposite my house. There is now a bright light shining in through into my house which is appalling, affects my quality of life, but more worryingly, my autistic daughter who stays at the weekend is now not wanting to come and stay as she's affected by artificial light and it's disturbing her sleep. Please can you either put a far less powerful bulb in, or preferably, put up some shields so the light only illuminates the street and not my house.

Council ref: 3696854

Asset ID: 001

Unit type: Wooden Pole Mounted Light

  • Thank you for your report, this has been logged on our management system which is in the process of being replaced. Our termed contractor will aim to have this repaired within the next 4 weeks. However, bad weather, supply chain delivery delays and COVID isolation of fault repair crew members can and is leading to extended fault repair times currently. If it is found to be a supply fault this will be passed to the local electricity network operator to attend.
