Loud clattering and potentially dangerous manhole

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Manhole fitted a month ago during rebuild of west-bound highway A417 - Park Road - Faringdon. Between pedestrian crossing and new bus stop opposite Stickley Court. Vehicles making horrendous noise and it could soon break causing a bad accident. The cover is not marked 'W' or 'Water' but it must be for one of the services below ground. THIS MUST BE FIXED URGENTLY BY SOMEONE. Don't wait for an accident! It is ultra annoying for nearby residents. PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

Loud and potentially dangerous clattering still not fixed. There are now three other identical manhole covers nearby making increasingly loud noises. Common cause appears to be shoddy setting/seating of the frames or underframes when installed a month ago. Regardless of who's fault it was - they all need fixing soonest. I think they are surface or foul water channels - therefore Thames Water's problem but actually fitted by the road-building contractors in June this year.

Still not fixed as we go into September. Now other nearby manholes also making loud clattering noises with every passing vehicles. It's a real annoyance, long overdue for fixing.

Re Fix My Street – Park Road SN7 7FU
Oxfordshire Highways Fix-My-Street References: ENQ22929989 dated 21st July 2022. Updated on 2nd August & 29th August. ENQ22931456 on 11th August 2022.
I have been trying to get Fix My street to fix the faulty metal manhole cover since the road was resurfaced in June.
Every time a vehicle passes over it a very loud clonking/clattering noise deafens us. The constant noise of the building equipment going back and forth has been traumatic and we have looked forward to a bit of peace now that is finished. However, the current non-stop noise is even worse. The noise is horrendous even with the windows closed and this weather we want some fresh air.
The only response received from the Water Board was that only manholes marked with ‘WATER’ or ‘W’ are their responsibility BUT these are new manholes fitted either by or for the Water Board. However, the manholes are obviously for Surface or Foul Water or for access to some other utility.

The man-hole covers are now jumping up and down to the extent that they could jump right out and create a potentially-fatal hole. THE ROAD SHOULD BE CLOSED IMMEDIATELY UNTIL IT IS FIXED.
