Water leaking over pavement, tuned to slimy deathtrap

Reported via desktop in the Drainage category anonymously at 13:28, Tue 5 July 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There's been water leaking across the pavement outside 39 Cumnor hill for years now. In the winter it froze and was dangerous, currently it's turned to slippery slime.

Council ref: ENQ22928857

  • Thank you for your report. I have visited the site you pinpointed on the map, in front of 39 Cumnor Hill, see photos, and assessed the issue you have identified, see photos. I have cleared the slippery slime from our footway to find the source of the water leak, which was a land drainage pipe set into the wall of 39, see latest photos. As this pipe has been there for a long time (I assume when the wall was built) it is not an issue we are responsible for as the water source is on private land which I could not visit. I am, therefore, re-assigning this report to the Drainage Team to assess and investigate.

  • Looks like the pipe has been covered up, but either way pavement is no longer slimey. Thanks!
