Run of lights not working again
Reported via desktop in the Lamp Out of Light category anonymously at 11:43, Thu 30 June 2022
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
That existing problem with street lights was 2 months ago and you fixed it but it is back. All the lights on the north side of Radley Road between Kennet Road and The Chestnuts are not working. I can't be bothered to do this for all of them. You should have some way of more easily notifying a multiple problem like this.

What is the delay, it states “in progress”! This was reported almost 4 weeks ago. There are two junctions and often parked vehicles on the road. I would consider this a safety issue. Are your resources inadequate?

This was first reported 6 weeks ago and then someone followed up and you changed to 'in progress'. What does that mean exactly. There has been no progress. All the lights along the North side of Radley Road from Kennet Road to the Chestnuts are still out. THIS IS DANGEROUS.

What does in progress mean? We are still without lighting; this has gone on too long and is unacceptable. Please investigate and update.

SUPPLY FAULT - Passed to SSE (Energy Supplier)
When our street lighting contractor previously attended site it was confirmed that there was a fault with the electricity supply to that lights rather than within the lights themselves, this fault has been reported to the Local District Network Operator (LDNO) by ourselves.
In much the same way as a typical household, Oxfordshire County Council is responsible only for the street light, but not for the electrical infrastructure outside of its own asset, the cabling serving street lights is provided and maintained by the LDNO; these are outside of the local authority control and subject to a separate regulatory framework overseen by ofgem.
Oxfordshire County Council’s contractor is not permitted in any way to interfere with or try to repair electricity supply faults, as they would be in breach of the statutory safety regulations if they tried to do so.
Once the electricity supply company advises Oxfordshire County Council the fault is rectified we will confirm this within our regular inspection programme to ensure that the light as a whole is in working order.

You fixed these light for a few weeks although you don't seem to realise that. The whole run of lights along north side of Radley Road between Kennet Road and Chestnus are out AGAIN! Pleas don't take 2 months to fix this time, this is dangerous.

Please provide an update and rectify the on going fault with several street lights not working on the Radley Road. This defect has gone on too long. Can you get the appropriate engineers out without any further delay and sort. This is a priority request.

Still no fix, and no updates. With the clocks changing this weekend lighting in this area needs to be restored without any further delay. This is a urgent request.
