Road needs resurfacing and drainage needs to be addressed

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 15:26, Mon 27 June 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The road is in a terrible state and is in need of resurfacing. Compounded with this, there is a huge drainage problem, with all drains regularly blocking and overflowing every time it rains. Gravel and mud regularly wash down from Fairfield Road and collect in Cleeve Down. This issue needs to be addressed to prevent the build up of stones and mud, which is dangerous to drive on.

Recently, the council attempted to sweep the road, but it was not left in a better state than before, as the tar mac has eroded so much that grit and stones collected in the eroded divots. The only solution is to resurface the road and provide a preventative solution to stop stones/mud washing in from Fairfield road.

The council also attempted to unblock one of the drains in November, but this did not solve the issue and it flooded again next time it rained. Clearly more drastic work is required on the drains in Cleeve Down to resolve this issue.

Note that my previous report on drainage was erroneously deleted as was not resolved.
