Traffic gate does not close properly

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

A padlock that kept the gate closed is misisng and the gate does not close properly allowing to flow traffic from Morrell Avenue to/from Cowley Road. The East Oxford Primary school children are endangered as the road became rat run (again).

  • Padlock broken and the gate can be opened again. Please replace the lock asap.

  • A loop on the post to which chains and locks would be secured is broken off. Please secure this gate to stay closed. I have seen increase in speeding cars on East Avenue trying to get through Collins Street (they either turn back in increased speed when the gate is closed or just break through the barrier, ie, not parking on East Ave or Collins Street).

  • Weeks later this has still not been fixed. The staple has been sawn off the post so it can no longer be locked.

    It has become really dangerous walking down East Avenue and Collins st! Please fix this lock situation. I can see many drug dealers in cars, and many taxi drivers going quite quickly around the corner!
