Too many speed limits over short stretch of Stratford Rd

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 19:02, Sunday 12 June 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

We now have THREE different speed limits on the very short stretch of A422 Stratford Rd between Drayton village and Warwick Rd, Banbury. I never understood why OCC insisted on retaining a very short stretch of 40 limit between the Drayton village 30 limit and the NOC 30 limit. We now have a new 20 limit outside NOC - fine with me - but instead of changing the 40 limit to 30 at the same time (so there is some logic to the limits) the speed limits go 30, 40, 20 in a few seconds of driving time. Surely this is nonsense? Most drivers I have spoken to about this expected OCC to amend the 40 to 30 as part of the scheme to reduce the 30 to 20 outside the school. Can this please be looked at again? Drivers not familiar with the road could surely be forgiven for not expecting the 40 limit to abruptly terminate in 20 a few metres further on.
