Unexpected high kerb in cycle path

Reported via mobile in the Suggested improvements category anonymously at 13:02, Mon 30 May 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Wolvercote Roundabout. Riding East through the roadworks on the Westbound two way cycle path I crossed a series of dropped kerbs/ ramped tarmac. The final crossing is a light controlled pedestrian crossing, not yet operating. There is a drop kerb or tarmac ramp on the west side of the junction but a full kerb on the east side. There is no warning, cones or barriers to direct or warn riders. I hit the kerb and was thrown from my cycle suffering cuts, bruises and concussion.

Whilst this may be temporary due to the works, as an experienced cyclist I find the current path very dangerous and am anxious that other riders avoid my fate.

I will add that there were a number of workmen on site but none came to my aid, despite seeing what was clearly a potentially serious accident involving a blow to the head.

However, I am only interested in reporting the issue in order to prevent further accidents. I have no photos due to the concussion suffered.

Thanks for your time.
