Incorrect road markings

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 19:29, Wed 25 May 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I believe this crossing would cause confusion because there is no stop line for vehicles which means a vehicle wouldn’t have to stop at the red light which is when the pedestrian gets a green signal to cross.

I would be interested in your views on this.

  • Thank you for your report. We have assessed it and found that it does not currently meet the criteria for intervention. This is because follows under the Road safety act 1989 section 3, If a person drives a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place without due care and attention, or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or place, he is guilty of an offence. If someone was running the red light which is clearly visible. Then it's traffic offence and dealt with under Thames valley police.
