80x20cm wide subsidance or the road surface following failed Gigaclear works on Paines Hill, Steeple Aston

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 15:19, Tue 24 May 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Shockwaves being sent through neighbouring houses when vehicles pass over subsided trench dug during Gigaclear works in early May 2022. The 80x20cm wide section of subsided trench is in the direct path of all vehcles going up or down Paines Hill. Roadside wall is now showing signs of cracking. This follows the previously reported failed works that OCC Highways attended on Monday 2nd May. The trench runs across the road between Hope Cottage and Windyridge. Having spent in excess of £25,000 on structural work to our house, any further damage will be recharged to OCC.

  • It's a month since this was reported as 'Investigating'. It is unacceptable that damage and disturbance is being treated so casually and disrepectfully by Gigaclear and Oxfordshire county Council Highways.
