LTN barrier allows smaller cars to pass through and it is a danger for cyclists

Reported via mobile in the Highway Schemes category anonymously at 19:54, Mon 23 May 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The gap on the south east side of the road between the barrier and the bollard is so wide small/medium width cars are passing through. Cyclists coming down the hill on Southfield Road are in sa blind spot for these cars and have to cross their path to continue on the wrong side of the road or they have to stop to avoid having a close encounter with the car This has been like this since installation and more cars know this a way through. Either move the planter to the centre of the road or build out the wood on the planter

  • More than three weeks have now passed and this problem has not been fixed. More and more vehicles are simply driving past the bollard and continuing up or down the road, often at speed. Very dangerous! Please fix with another bollard, as has happened in Divinity Road.

  • Bollard has now been removed and traffic is passing freely through the filter
