Black bollard in centre of road

Reported via mobile anonymously at 09:20, Monday 23 May 2022

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

At night it is almost impossible to see. Situated in the middle of the road and with very little reflection, cyclists front lights are not going to illuminate this dangerous obstacle. In addition approaching car headlights are dazzling and make these black bollards all over East Oxford very hard to see. Accident waiting to happen..

  • The bollard is still standing but has suffered some damage (scraping) and is a bit wobbly. It looks as though a vehicle has driven over it. An attempt to do this has previously been witnessed, eg a car passenger collapsing and holding down the bollard with their foot, for the vehicle driver to run over. This damage has nothing to do with the other report about the bollard being hard to see - more likely a deliberate attempt to push through the LTN barrier.
