New street light fitted when one wasn't required

Reported via desktop in the Other Lighting Issue category anonymously at 18:39, Tue 17 May 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Street lamp No 6 outside 13 North Quay was fitted with a new LED light cluster on Mon 16/5/22. However there was nothing wrong with the old sodium lamp and as far as we can ascertain no-one had reported it as faulty. I understood that these lights were only going to be replaced when the old light failed. Therefore by replacing it early taxpayers money has been wasted. I take it that the repair crews have a worksheet to cover each repair or are they now cruising the streets just looking for old lamps and replacing them?
