Unstable Manhole on 12 Acre Drive

Reported via iOS in the Manhole category anonymously at 12:16, Sat 14 May 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Thames Water are responsible as they did some major works here which included fitting this. Every time cars and lorries (we have many as main road to Aggregate Merchants) go over this metal manhole it makes a loud tapping noise. I can hear it from my house situated near the wooden bridge over the stream.

Council ref: ENQ22924596

  • This was reported to Thames Water over 2 months ago and they have done nothing. It's about time the council gave them a kick up the bum! Perhaps they would do something if more people complained. Here... customer.feedback@thameswater.co.uk or here... 0700 0093932 For the houses very close to it the sound is like a gunshot, several times a minute at busy periods. Using the garden, or even opening a window, has become impossible unless you wear earplugs or play loud music to attempt to distract from the noise. On 6/6/22 it will be 3 months since I complained to TW. If nothing has been done I plan to write to a local councillors and the MP.
