Significant bad smell coming from drains on road

Reported via mobile in the Drainage category anonymously at 17:39, Tue 10 May 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

For the last two weeks or so there has been a persistent bad smell coming from the drains in the road outside my property, this has got worse over the last few days and is now noticeable from the back garden and inside the house when the windows are open. It’s very I unpleasant and impacting on my daily life. It has continued after the significant rainfall that occurred last week.

  • Thank you for your report. I have visited the site you pinpointed on the map, in front of 14-15 The Warren, see photos, and assessed the issue you have identified. I could not smell the bad smell coming from drains you refer to so am closing this report.

This report is not the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council. If you notice the odor again try to pinpoint the source, i.e. a gas leak or foul water leak, and then raise it with respective owner of the source.

If you phone them directly, rather than Oxfordshire County Council, they will log it for you and inspect it promptly. As stated in the Fix My Street help page Fix My Street is not suitable for urgent issues (councils can take up to a week to read reports) and, in any case, there will be additional delays because the council will need to forward the report to the appropriate agency.
