Russian Vine! Shrubbery and hedges need cutting back on Townsend road
Reported via desktop in the Grass and Hedges category anonymously at 17:00, Tuesday 10 May 2022
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
We recently moved into 19 Cleycourt road and are planning on some home/garden improvements. There is a tree on Townsend lane that is covered in Russian Ivy. This ivy has covered all of our rear fence and in some places the fence has collapsed. This ivy needs to be removed and the fence replaced. Russian ivy is a highly invasive plant and needs urgent attention or further damage will occur. It is regarded as very much a nuisance plant.

Thank you for your enquiry. I have visited the location and assessed the site. The site is on land not deemed to be part of the highway maintainable at public expense and therefore, Oxfordshire County Council do not have responsibility for the trees as local highway authority. I believe the tree may be the responsibility of the Vale of the White Horse District Council and therefore you should contact them directly to pursue this enquiry further. Some useful contact information is available on the Oxfordshire County Council residents webpage.
