Height of railings obstruct view of road.

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 15:14, Wed 4 May 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

As you urn right from The Cherwell School on to the Marston Ferry Road the view of traffic is obstructed to the left due to the height of the railing on the underpass. This does man cars sometimes randomly pull out . With increaed vehicle access likely with the plannning approval of the schools 3G pitch it would be great if this could be reduced in height.

  • Thank you for your report. We have assessed it and found that it does not currently meet the criteria for intervention, so will not be fixing at this time.

These Guard rails have been implemented at this height for exact reason to protect people and cyclists going through the under pass. So reducing their height would costly, and also counter intuitive to the original purpose of making sure pedestrians and cyclists are safe from all forms of vehicles along this route. Not just cars.
