Worn paint causing dangerous zebra crossing

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 09:47, Fri 22 April 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I came to report this dangerous zebra crossing (mistakenly added this comment to the windmill road crossing). Without exaggeration, cars fail to stop 4 of 5 days per week when I cross. There is a need for tree trimming, but perhaps more importantly, the striped paint on the road is nearly fully worn, which makes it hard for cars to identify.

  • ?We had hoped to nrefurbish the road markings this year (2022) but have had to defer until 2023 when we hope to consider all the road markings on this road from The Slade to Valencia Road.

  • We have investigated your report and have added your request to our maintenance list for 2023/24. However, these works will have to compete with others that may have a higher priority as more reports are received (for example where there are greater safety implications). As a result it may get deferred more than once.
