8ft gully/trench across Southend Road

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:20, Friday 8 April 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I have been advised to submit this request again via our Parish Council. We are currently experiencing issues with a 8ft patch of road situated across the full width of Southend, Garsington. The area in question is located outside of 94 Southend, Garsington, OX44 9DL. The road surface area is a gully/trench at two different road surface heights, and as a result causes vibrations from buses/heavy vehicles when travelling at excessive speeds. This is causing cracking to my property. Would it be possible to resurface /smooth the road surface, so both areas are at the same level?

This isnt the only issue on Southend road, there are many potholes all along this route from the church down to the end of the street.

Council ref: ENQ22922199

  • I nearly suffered a serious accident on my bike today at this location. The pothole is full of water and you can't see just how deep it is. Only the fact that I was on a Mountain bike with suspension forks prevented major damage and possibly catastrophic injury. PLease fix asap

  • Hello, can you please provide an update regarding this issue? My property is still vibrating every time a bus/heavy vehicle drives past.
