Water seeping from road surface again

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 18:37, Sat 2 April 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This report was submitted on 28th November 2021: "There is a small seepage of water from a joint in the road surface at the junction of Sheep Street and Fisher's Lane. It is probably the re-emergence of one of the many springs in this area, but will need to be investigated before the water flow increases during the winter. The water on the roadway was frozen this morning, a problem that will only get worse as the winter progresses."

OCC subsequently investigated, and concluded that it was not bad enough to be followed up. Thames Water then came and dug up the road, created a hole full of water, filled it up again and re-surfaced it.

The seepage has now started again, and will lead to break-up of the road surface n due course unless a proper fix (like installing a drain to take the spring water away) is carried out.
