Dangerous corner
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 08:50, Fri 25 March 2022
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This is a dangerous corner and this morning as I was heading north, I was run off the road avoiding a speeding car heading south, so finally decided to report it. I travel this road regularly and cars pick up speed coming from Duns Tew and then don't slow down coming round the corner. I think that signs should be put there to tell drivers to slow down.

Bend signs - No uniform objective test can be applied and traffic authorities must rely on a subjective assessment of these factors when deciding whether or not to use the sign. The sign should be used sparingly and only to indicate a bend hazard. It should not be used simply to allay local apprehension regarding the speed of traffic. Over-use of the sign could compromise its contribution to road safety and add to sign clutter. Our injury accident database shows no record of injury accidents having occurred in this vicinity so no signs will be proposed at this time.
