This is a very dangerous junction. Mirror required at junction of unnamed road, leading to Abbey Close

Reported via mobile in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 22:51, Sun 6 March 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Since more house have been added to this area, there is an increase of cars using the road. It’s incredibly dangerous having to pull out of our unnamed track onto Westfield road. If you are pulling right, you can see nothing on the left until you are on the middle of the road. People are doing 60+ miles per hour, often in the middle of the road, not expecting you to be pulling out. If you are turning left you have to crawl and hug the corner as again your can’t see a thing on the left and people often approach in the middle of the road. I’m worried there is going to be a serious accident. A simple mirror opposite our turning wound instantly dolce this issue with the left side being completely blind.

  • Thank you for raising your concern, however, the county do not provide or support the use of road mirrors on the highway. The image they provide can be misleading in terms of vehicle speed and distance giving drivers a false sense of security, potentially leading to vehicles emerging injudiciously. They are prone to vandalism, fogging in poor atmospheric conditions and glare from the sun or car headlights.
