Oxford Road, north-bound right turn traffic lights still defective

Reported via desktop in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 13:03, Friday 4 March 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The Oxford Road north-bound right turn traffic signal into Oxford Parkway is still unable to detect pedal cycles. The problem has existed since Jan 2021 and is still present following two engineer visits; the last one was reported on 15 Feb.

I have tested the sensor immediately behind the stop line on several occasions by approaching normally, by repeatedly running my bike over it and by approaching it with two other cyclists. Despite waiting between 5-10mins, on no occasion has the signal detect the presence of a bike(s) and allow safe passage. The only way for a bike to progress is by ignoring the red signal.

On occasions when a vehicle has also pulled into the right turn lane behind me, it is detected immediately and the lights rapidly cycle to green.
