New tarmac is uneven

Reported via desktop in the Suggested improvements category by Stephan Schwebel at 10:54, Sun 27 February 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Newly laid tarmac surface is uneven. This stretch of tarmac was laid recently (Jan 2022) after some excavation work. It is undulating and uneven. When cycling across vibrations and vertical accelerations are unavoidable and make it extremely unpleasant to ride across. The old tarmac right next to it is smooth and even. Why could this stretch not be completed to the same standard?

  • Agreed that this is appalling work - it's like cycling over cobbles. If cycles are keeping to the left, to allow other users to share the path, they can't simply go around it because it takes up nearly half the width of the pathway.
