Thames water have coned off the B4022 main road just North of the junction with High Street Finstock. All the resulting traffic is pouring through the tiny village of Finstock Village.

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:52, Thu 17 February 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The volume of traffic is completely unmanageable in the village. The village has many stretches where the road is lined with parked cars on one side. The volume of traffic is resulting in gridlock and vehicles mounting the pavement. A child was hit by a vehicle in School Road this morning and is now in hospital. The B4022 needs to be opened immediately and a contraflow put in place with lights before someone is killed!

  • It is now dark, the traffic continues to pour through the village. There are no street lights in this village and, in one stretch, just up from the village pub, at the bottom of a hill, no pavements and a blind bend! Not sure why this route seems to have been approved as suitable . There's a serious risk of someone ending up dead!
