New LED Street Light Angle and Brightness

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Have spoken to Iona at the Country council and explained that a new LED streetlight installed yesterday totally illuminates the whole of my house including bedrooms and front driveway. It was so bright we were unable to sleep properly despite having shutters! Please can you adjust the angle of the light more to the road and attach shields to prevent the light shining so brightly on the house. Also noted it stayed on all night, which it never used to. No other streetlights in Fyfield remain on all night. Please can you adjust the timings on it so that this is not the case. Many thanks Telegraph Pole number 6617969 Next to Fyfield House on Netherton Lane.

Thank you for your report, this has been logged on our management system which is in the process of being replaced. Our termed contractor will aim to have this repaired within the next 4 weeks. However, bad weather, supply chain delivery delays and COVID isolation of fault repair crew members can and is leading to extended fault repair times currently. If it is found to be a supply fault this will be passed to the local electricity network operator to attend.

Contractors came to site yesterday to replace light fitting with one which would automatically turn off at c. 11.00 pm and then come back on at c. 5.30 am. They also said they were replacing another light in the village on a similar basis. Unfortunately the new fittings (in both lights) still stay on all night as before, illuminating our house and the light disturbing us all night. Can this please be corrected (ie existing fitting properly tested to ensure it goes out at the prescribed time or replaced once again). Also, can a guard or shield please be fitted to reduce light spill over our house (Fyfield House) if possible. Many thanks.
