Drain overflowing NOT FIXED

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Same problem as reported over 2 weeks ago now and the drain is in the same state, water running down the road like a stream passing motorists spraying water everywhere. Please don’t change to fixed when nobody has done anything.

Council ref: ENQ22914839

Asset ID: 290129500

  • Thank you for your report. I visited this site, you pinpointed on the map, in front of 14 Fogwell Road, on Monday 10 January 2022 and submitted a request for one of our gully crews to clear the gully drain and jet the pipe. The crew attended this site, on 24 January 2022, and reported back that "they have been several times in the last year and that there is nothing they can do here - this is a Thames Water issue". They have, therefore, closed the job down.

This water appears to be coming from the surface water sewer in the road which is maintained by Thames Water. Oxfordshire County Council Highways are only responsible for drains (gullies) on the road and these connect into this surface sewer. This report is therefore not the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council and is for Thames Water to resolve. We have contacted them several times in the past concerning this issue, asking them to resolve it. We contacted them again, on 24 January 2022, requesting a prompt response.

If this problem persists please contact them directly.
