Parking problem due to lack of Yellow Line/s
Reported via desktop in the Road Markings category by marcus Summerhayes at 09:55, Tue 11 January 2022
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Vehicles park near the corner of Ludsden Grove leading up to Barley Hill |School due to lack of Yellow Line/s. Lorries & commercial vehicles which visit the school very often have to mount the pavement to get around the corner. Not only is this dangerous but breaks the surface of the pavement. It also causes a problem for people living in the facility to get their cars out f the drives.

Thank you for your enquiry requesting new double yellow lines in Lusden Grove, Thame.
To implement or modify waiting restrictions such as double yellow lines the existing TRO (traffic regulation order) on the road would have to be changed. The process to change a TRO includes full consultation and an expensive legal process. Unfortunately Oxfordshire County Council could not fund such a scheme at this time.
In the first instance, the best approach would be raising this issue with your local Councillor. Any plans for proposed new double yellow lines, would require their support if they were to be considered further. The Parish Council will then be able to to gather local opinion on this matter and then progress the issue on a higher level. As an alternative for the meantime, if you find that the parked cars continue to be a problem and people are parking irresponsibly. For example if the carriage way is obstructed and vehicles can't get through safely. Then you can contact the police with this matter as they are able to deal with vehicles causing an unnecessary obstruction .
