Weeds all over paths and roundabout

Reported via mobile in the Pavements category anonymously at 04:01, Sun 9 January 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Can this area be weeded, the roundabout is an eyesore, full of weeds, as is the adjacent paths. This has been neglected by the local council for a long time. Thanks

  • Thank you for your report. I have visited the site you pinpointed on the map, on Cumnor Road B4017 - Robinson Road junction roundabout - Wootton, and have assessed the issue you have identified.

Regarding the 'Weeds all over ..... roundabout', they are not obstructing vision and are not a safety issue, see photos. They, therefore, don't meet our current intervention criteria so I cannot arrange any repairs.

Regarding the 'Weeds all over ..... the adjacent paths', I could only find one small section, by the side of 70 Robinson Road, see photos. After checking the land registry it appears that this small section of land, the weeds are growing from, is not the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council Highways Department, but is owned by, and the responsibility of, the verge landowner, George Wimpey South West limited. I have requested a 28 day notice be sent to them, to cut back their vegetation overgrowing and obstructing the Cumnor Road B4017 footway.

I am therefore closing this report. We will continue to monitor this site during our routine inspections. If you notice that the issue gets worse, please open a new report.
