Pavement damage.
Reported via mobile in the Pavements category anonymously at 14:04, Fri 7 January 2022
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The pavement has been marked up for repair for over a year. The cone marking the fault is also an obstruction to the many elderly and disabled residents in seacourt road. Some of them have started pushing wheelchairs in the road to avoid it, others squeeze past risking tipping over as there wheels dig in the soft grass verge. This needs fixing fast before someone is injured.

Thank you for reporting this issue. I have visited the location you pinpointed on the map, in front of 17 Seacourt Road, see photos. We are already aware of this ongoing issue. This 'raised manhole cover with exposed wire defect' report is not the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council and was passed to Virgin Media, twice, for repair. Each time they have reported it repaired but it hasn't been. We are chasing them. If you also wish to chase them contact:

Thank you for you report and here is an update. I have re-visited the location and noted that a Virgin Media team had visited the site, partly buried the exposed cable, but not repaired the site around it. I have emailed them again, on 21 March 2022, regarding this issue. I was informed that they have now raised a new job asking for these works to be completed ASAP.

Thank you for your report. Here is an update: Virgin Media have since informed us that they will not work on this site until the tree root, causing the pavement/manhole cover upheave, is removed. Unfortunately, this issue, to remove the tree root, doesn't meet our current immediate intervention criteria, so I cannot arrange a prompt repair. It has been placed on our list of Minor Civils jobs to be implemented at a future date, subject to there being no conflicting works and sufficient funds. We will continue to monitor this site during our routine inspections.

Thank you for your report. Here is a further update: Unfortunately, this issue, to remove the tree root and repair the footway, doesn't meet our current immediate intervention criteria, so I cannot arrange a prompt repair. It is still on our list of Minor Civils jobs to be implemented in the near future, subject to there being no conflicting works and sufficient funds. We will continue to monitor this site during our routine inspections.

This issue unfortunately, doesn't meet our current immediate intervention criteria, under our Highway Safety Inspection Policy, so I cannot arrange a prompt repair. It was placed/logged onto the list of Minor Civils jobs that will be assessed for inclusion in future programmed works, subject to there being no conflicting works and sufficient funds. I am therefore closing this report. We will continue to monitor this site during our routine inspections.
