Lack of paving

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Hi Work was carried out during the summer which has made it impossible now to walk anywhere other than on the road. There is a development of new houses here all of whom pay there council tax - however walking access into the village is via a very small alleyway. This isn't good enough - Summertown needs pavement access to the village.

Dear Lisa,
Thank you for your enquiry. The Road Agreements Team technically check and facilitate the works that have been agreed/requested during planning. We then inspect these works throughout the construction period, to ensure the works are being delivered safely and in accordance with the planning/technically approved drawings. There was no requirement in the planning permission for this development to provide a footway from the access on Summertown all the way into the Village. Discussions about what has been given planning permission (whether that be the process, principle or variants) would need to be directly with the Local Planning Authority – Vale of White Horse District Council.
To access the village from this Development you will need to use the PROW (Public right of way) at the top (north) of the site. I believe this has been improved/upgraded as a result of this development.
Kind regards
Road Agreements Team
