Decaying Sycamore and Horse Chestnut to southern verge of Old Wallingford Way

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 16:07, Tuesday 4 January 2022

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

ENQ21886398 - advised of fungal growth on a sycamore and potential decay with the neighbouring Horse Chestnut (further east) on southern verge of Old Wallingford Way.

This was closed and noted that it was not the responsibility of OCC and the information passed to other public authorities.

Still nothing has been done and the decay in both trees has got worse.

It is understood that Old Wallingford Way is a By Way open to all traffic as per Sutton Courtenay Enclosure Award 1805 (Berkshire County Council). This sets out that the carriage way as per the BOAT is for a width of 40ft and would therefore include the verge where the trees are and as such fall under the responsibility of OCC.

Please can you reinvestigate and advise/undertake necessary works.
