Two blocked gullies

Reported via mobile in the Drainage category anonymously at 10:11, Fri 10 December 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Two gullies on either side of the street have been blocked since April. We reported one gully previously and action was taken to unblock it. However, the next time it rained, mud washed down the hill and collected outside our house causing the gully to overflow and the road to flood, leaving large amounts of slippery mud to collect in the road. This is a regular occurrence (there is now grass growing in the road). Therefore, greater action needs to be taken to fix this problem. The gully on the other side of the street also overflows (workers refused to unblock this when they came to work on the other drain previously). The ticket was then erroneously resolved. There is another blocked gully further up the street which was reported in October and no action has been taken. The result is that the road surface has deteriorated to an extent that there is no surface left and all we are left with is the base course which is also heavily degraded. It’s appalling that residents in the less affluent area of Goring are treated this way.

  • It has been an entire year since this was reported, why has it not been resolved? The same issues persist and are worsening.
