Pigeon Feeding / Rats

Reported via desktop anonymously at 12:54, Tue 23 November 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

Wilsham Road adjacent to the removed fuelling station needs signage to discourage feeding of pigeons. It is getting worse with one individual in particular who feeds them twice a day. There is now also evidence of rats in the same area. Other Councils nationally are acting on this menace, VWHC or OCC need to do the same.

Problems associated with pigeons:

Diseases and parasites spread quickly among pigeons Droppings and leftover food can cause people to slip and injure themselves, especially during wet and cold weather Pigeons carry mites that can cause skin diseases among humans Nests, dropping and feathers block air vents and gutters
