School 'keep clear' lines insufficient

Reported via mobile in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 15:01, Mon 22 November 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Great to have the school 'keep clear ' road markings done in the summer, however have just noticed they stop before the main gate used by children to enter and exit. Any chance they could be extended? At present there is nothing to stop parking immediately outside the gate. Many thanks

  • Thank you for your enquiry into having the School Keep Clear marking extended outside the school gates. From inspection it would appear that there should be an access protection marking (APM) in front of the gate but it has mostly faded away. As the name suggests APM's are for encouraging road users not to park in front of access points and generally are found to be effective. As that is the case, for the time being a job will be added to the 2022/23 proposed work list to get the APM's along this section of road refreshed. This should hopefully discourage road users from parking in front of the gates.
    Hope this helps.
