Insufficient and poor quality kerb repairs
Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 13:12, Fri 22 October 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
In your last response you stated that repairs would be completed on parts of the granite kerbs where the condition "met you criterion for intervention". I am not sure what your criterion is, but the repairs completed represent only a small proportion of the total of many hundreds of individual setts either displaced or badly sunk, some in a worse condition than the ones "repaired". In addition the workmanship on the actual repairs is very poor, some already cracking away after less than a week, and no mortar between adjacent setts, never mind being poor visually. The overall condition of the kerbs and footpaths needs to be properly addressed on an urgent basis.

Thank you for your report. Due to the volume of granite sets involved, unfortunately I had to limit the repairs to those of which I had identified as priority. I carried out a walked inspection, apart from the loose sets I identified numerous misaligned sets .As a result I have requested that the site should be visited by the technical officer requesting that this location can be added to the list for consideration for permanent and programmed repairs.I will revisit the site to inspect the quality of the repairs which you have also mentioned.
