Foul smell of sewage

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Hi I am told that the issue of foul smell from the sewer drain has been raised many times before, yet I can not find a record on FMS. I am raising this as a District Councillor who has been notified by a number of residents of this issue, and as one who has smelt it himself. I hope that this is being passed to Thames Water to look into.

  • The appalling smell still persists. It comes from the manhole outside number 15 Skimmingdish Lane where the pumping main from the new eco-town discharges into the main sewer. Cherwell DC are aware. I have met Thames water and with Cherwell on site. Thames water tell me that as the pumping main has not yet been adopted the problem rests with the contractors or the council. Previous discussions with CDC promoted A period of relief from the smell which has now returned.
