Large lime tree outside house

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 22:35, Monday 11 October 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This tree is a nuisance and we have reported it before. We have had root ingress into our drains and have had Dynorod here for several days to resolve the issue. The tree overhangs our front garden, which we really don't want. The basal shoots make it difficult for pedestrians to use the pavement- we trim these shoots to make life easier for people. The leaves and debris have completely blocked the storm drain outside our house, despite our efforts to keep it clear. Lime trees are for parklands, not suburban roads. Please remove this tree

  • It's been pointed out to me that there is a crack in my garden wall directly in line with the lime tree which is only 4ft away.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. I have visited site and assessed the tree described in the enquiry. The enquiry discusses damage to property as a result of a highway asset. As such it is necessary to contact the County’s insurance team to pursue this matter further. Information on this can be found on the County’s public website at: residents/ roads-and-transport/ street?maintenance-z/ compensation
