Traffic “calming” works failing to calm traffic or residents !

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
These “traffic calming works “ have dragged on fir 3 months with apparently no end in sight. Temporary signage is still littering the verges & highway quite often being blown over or run over by vehicles . Having been told that just a couple of new signs are required to be erected is it really necessary to have this eyesore of equipment sitting around for any longer . The chicanes appear to have been completed & in use , the fact that they are failing to serve their purpose in calming the traffic is another matter . Residents now have loud frequent car horns at all times of the day & night in response to motorists failing to “give way “ & playing beat the chicane which was highlighted as the likely outcome by those who live close to the road.

When asked for comments on Berry Hill Road traffic calming we did suggest that the chicanes were in the wrong place . Speeds are not reduced as cars coming from Milton still Speed up from triangle and bend to ward the Oxford road and try to beat the chicane and the hooting is because cars from Oxford road cannot see low lying cars approaching as a dip in the road obscures their view and cars going at speed think it’s their right to get through the chicane even when cars have pulled out to pass as they have not seen on coming traffic. No help to Berry Hill residents🤨
