Failed Lamp

Reported via desktop in the Street lighting category anonymously at 21:00, Mon 27 September 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

AM I CORRECT IN ASSUMING THAT THIS LAMP SHOULD BE LIT ALL NIGHT LONG? THE TIMES WHEN I FIND IT EXTINGUISHED ARE ALWAYS IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING.

Street light 11, on Wootton Road, at the exit from the shops, has failed again. It was out-of-action just after 1 am in the early hours of last Saturday morning 25th September. Earlier last week, on 21st September, I received confirmation from you that it had been fixed as part of Job 00389446, having been off since, at least, 6th August.

Previously, it had been working for several weeks, following repairs as part of Job Ref: 00387474 in July but was then out-of-action after midnight on at least two Friday nights.

  • This lamp was still out-of-action in the middle part of the evening of 5th November, indicating that the switching off is not intentional but is part of a genuine fault.
