St Andrews Road drains bloacked

Its not just one drain that is a problem, its many of them. I looked at those between Western Road and Green lane. On the right hand side of the road as you go up the hill they are totally blocked to the top. On the left hand side they are not completely blocked, but after this mornings rain they had stationary water sitting in them, which I wouldn't expect half way down a hill. Last year the leaves on our road were not swept.... or at least not until most of them had been mushed by cars and swept into the drains by rain. I think the problem is the drains are now one big compost heap. I did actually report leaves last year on a different road, and was told to tell biffa as they were supposed to be cleaning them up. Well I am very sorry but to be honest I didn't have the time to find a number for biffa, and then find the department responsible for cleaning the leaves in Henley, and then complain to them about a service commissioned by someone else... Anyway, I would imagine that their lack of action last year has been a big reason for the blocked drains now. If the drains are left I imagine that there will be more water on the roads, more detritus on the roads.... which will be more dangerous to road users, and also result in pot holes forming more quickly in the frosts.... which will mean even more expense.... shame about the leaves not getting swept in a timely manor last year.... It would be great if the drains could be cleaned so they work, and if the leaf sweeping could be scheduled to happen a few times over the autumn to help avoid this situation in the future. Many thanks

🛑Despite reporting the very large number of blocked drains on most of St Andrew’s Road in Henley , months ago, nothing has been auctioned to remedy this. The inaction is causing major issues when there are flash floods with nowhere for the water to run except into people’s driveways or onto pavements etc , with other people reporting the SAME issues in September , NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN. Please can you update when this will this be given a priority?

Thank you for your report I have forwarded this to the drainage team to arrange for the gully wagon to attend and clear the blocked gullies.
