Footpath between Witan Way and The Wharf

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 11:31, Wednesday 15 September 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The state of this footpath is appalling. it has been reported many times but nothing seems to be done about it. Trees are obscuring the lights at the Witan Way end and brambles and stinging nettles are encroaching onto the actual footpath. These are at head height for young children an people in mobility scooters. The person who cuts the grass at the edge is wasting time and money as he does nothing about the main problem. The overhanging vegetation has forced people off the footpath onto the uneven ground at the side in some places. Perhaps some of the problem is that people in Belmont have put fences up at the bottom of their gardens slightly inside their boundaries. Vegetation is rampant between these fences and the original wire fence along the side of the footpath. It is only a matter or time before somebody suffers a serious scratch or cut. Especially at night when the obstructions are invisible.
