Repeated cars crash through the fence into St. Franci's Church
Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category by Canon Richard Cook at 17:13, Mon 13 September 2021
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
St. Francis' Church is at the end of the long straight part of Highland. In the winter, a car driver skidded through the fence! On Sunday, 9th May, a high speed car took off, crashed through the fence and into the Church Office. Both of these events might not have happened if there had been chevron road signs on the fence, telling drivers that a sharp bend was coming! This is the fourth time in recent years that the fence has been destroyed.

A new fence has been put in place of the twice broken fence, on the corner of Highlands, on the street side of Highlands. The builders are working on repairing the building, following the May crash and the July 19 fire. But I have heard nothing about attachingreflective chevrons onto the fence, which would make the corner more visible to car drivers coming from the Warwick Road end of Highlands. When will I hear from you? This year, I hope (=2021!)
